This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Mid-Level Mainframe Systems Analyst (Analista de Sistemas Mainframe PL) in Brazil.

This role is focused on supporting and evolving critical mainframe systems that drive essential business operations in large-scale, mission-critical environments. You will be responsible for analyzing requirements, designing solutions, and contributing to the development and maintenance of systems using established mainframe technologies. The position involves working closely with technical and business teams to ensure system performance, stability, and alignment with business rules. You will also participate in testing, documentation, and agile ceremonies, contributing to continuous delivery and process improvement. This is a highly analytical and technical role that requires attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. You will work in a collaborative environment where legacy systems and modern practices intersect, ensuring reliable and efficient system evolution.

Accountabilities:

• Analyze, design, and develop mainframe system solutions based on business and technical requirements.
• Elicit, document, and validate functional and non-functional system requirements.
• Perform data modeling and process mapping, ensuring alignment with business rules and system architecture.
• Develop and maintain programs using mainframe technologies such as Cobol, CICS, Natural, DB2, VSAM, and SQL.
• Create and execute test scripts, including testing activities in KDZ environments.
• Support system performance analysis and troubleshoot technical issues in production and test environments.
• Participate in agile ceremonies (Scrum and Kanban) and contribute to iterative delivery cycles.
• Produce technical documentation and user manuals to support system usage and maintenance.
• Coordinate programming tasks and ensure quality in delivered solutions.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with mainframe development and support environments.
• Strong knowledge of Cobol, CICS, Natural One, DB2, VSAM, and SQL.
• Experience with system analysis, structured analysis, and data modeling techniques.
• Ability to design and execute test scripts in environments such as KDZ.
• Familiarity with tools such as ERwin (ERWN) or similar CASE tools.
• Understanding of algorithms and structured programming concepts.
• Experience working in agile environments (Scrum and Kanban).
• Strong problem-solving mindset, proactivity, and ownership of assigned tasks.
• Ability to manage multiple demands and work effectively in complex systems.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams.
