Accountabilities:

• Lead the development and evolution of backend systems within a recurring payments and platform engineering context.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical design decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and strong non-functional requirements.
• Act as a reference for software testing practices, promoting quality, automation, and engineering best standards across the team.
• Develop and maintain systems across the full software lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and production support.
• Contribute to code reviews, fostering knowledge sharing, consistency, and adherence to engineering guidelines.
• Identify, manage, and reduce technical debt while evaluating new technologies and approaches for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals and cost efficiency considerations.
• Support incident resolution processes and promote a culture of learning, transparency, and operational excellence.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Java and solid experience with Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices-based architectures.
• Experience with event-driven systems, Apache Kafka, and data-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of Protocol Buffers and API design principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and agile development environments.
• Strong knowledge of TDD and software testing best practices.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and infrastructure concepts.
• Experience with SQL and query construction for relational databases.
• Knowledge of design patterns and software architecture principles.
• Experience with Git version control and collaborative engineering workflows.
• Nice to have: experience with gRPC and hexagonal architecture.
• Nice to have: knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Nice to have: familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor).
• Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and ability to work in agile teams.
