Area Manager

This role is focused on leading commercial performance and customer success within the paper and pulp industry in the Southern region of Brazil. You will be responsible for driving sales growth, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring the profitability and sustainability of key accounts. Acting as both a strategic partner and hands-on leader, you will coordinate technical and commercial teams while directly engaging with customers in the field. The position requires a strong balance of commercial acumen, technical understanding, and leadership capability to support complex industrial operations. You will contribute to long-term business planning, market expansion, and competitive positioning through data-driven insights and active client engagement. Accountabilities:
- Drive sales growth in the paper and pulp segment by maintaining a strong and active sales pipeline and improving conversion rates
- Allocate and coordinate resources to ensure the team meets defined commercial and operational targets
- Conduct regular client visits, ensuring alignment with company and customer procedures and maintaining strong relationships
- Contribute to short- and medium-term sales strategy development, providing market insights and executing strategic plans
- Ensure continuity and sustainability of existing business by proactively anticipating customer needs
- Negotiate pricing and commercial conditions with clients, ensuring profitability and escalation when approvals are required
- Ensure proper execution of sales processes and systems (e.g., CRM, forecasting, reporting tools)
- Conduct market benchmarking and identify new business opportunities, segments, and growth areas
- Prepare management and client reports as needed
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Bachelorβs degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields
- Proven experience in technical sales within the pulp and paper industry
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving performance
- Solid negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong focus on results, profitability, and cost management
- Experience working with financial and commercial metrics
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and client-facing environments
- Knowledge of pulp and paper manufacturing processes (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (preferred)
- Advanced English (preferred)
