AWS Data Engineer | Senior

This role is an opportunity to work on modern, cloud-native data platforms within a highly innovative and AI-driven environment. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines on AWS, supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives across global teams. The position involves working with large-scale datasets, ensuring reliable data ingestion, transformation, and availability for downstream use cases. You will collaborate in agile squads, contributing to continuous delivery and high engineering standards. The role combines hands-on engineering with strong ownership of data architecture and orchestration workflows. Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using AWS services such as AWS Glue and MWAA (Apache Airflow).
- Manage and evolve data cataloging and metadata processes using AWS Glue Data Catalog.
- Perform data querying, transformation, and analytics using Amazon Athena to support business insights.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Tableau for business and operational use cases.
- Ensure orchestration, scheduling, and reliability of data workflows across distributed systems.
- Collaborate with agile squads, participating in Scrum ceremonies and continuous delivery cycles.
- Support data modeling efforts to ensure structured, scalable, and efficient data architecture.
- Strong experience in AWS-based data engineering and ETL/ELT pipeline development.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience in building and optimizing data workflows.
- Hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or MWAA.
- Solid proficiency in Python for data processing and automation tasks.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts (relational and analytical).
- Experience working in agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with data observability and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and Airflow monitoring is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work with large-scale, distributed data systems.
