In this role, you will take the lead in designing and implementing advanced data science solutions that drive meaningful real-world impact. Working in a fully remote environment, you will transform complex datasets into actionable insights, supporting critical initiatives related to education and financial transparency. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build scalable machine learning models, deploy them into production, and ensure their continuous performance. Accountabilities:

• Develop and implement machine learning models to predict student dropout and enable early intervention strategies
• Design and deploy fraud detection and anomaly detection systems for financial transaction monitoring
• Manage the full data lifecycle, from data extraction and transformation in data lakes to model deployment in production environments
• Integrate and process data from multiple sources, including APIs and internal systems
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear dashboards, reports, and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
• Document developed solutions and support ongoing monitoring, error handling, and maintenance of models
• Contribute to building a strong data-driven culture across teams and stakeholders

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s, postgraduate, or advanced degree in Information Technology or a related field
• Proven experience in data science projects, especially in fraud detection, anomaly detection, or financial risk analysis
• Advanced proficiency in Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn, XGBoost or LightGBM) and strong SQL skills
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Machine Learning tools (Notebooks, Synapse, MLflow)
• Hands-on experience consuming REST APIs and integrating data from diverse sources
• Strong ability to understand business challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to have:

• Previous experience in the public sector, fintech, or audit environments
• Postgraduate specialization in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning
• Familiarity with MLOps practices for model monitoring and lifecycle management
