This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Scientist (GCP Migration) in Brazil.

This role sits at the intersection of data science, data engineering, and cloud transformation, playing a key part in the migration of analytical and machine learning workloads from AWS to Google Cloud Platform. You will be responsible for ensuring that data pipelines, integrations, and ML processes are seamlessly adapted to the GCP ecosystem while maintaining performance, reliability, and data consistency. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will partner with data engineering, architecture, and MLOps teams to ensure smooth end-to-end transitions. The position requires strong technical depth in cloud platforms and data processing, as well as the ability to solve complex migration challenges. Beyond migration tasks, you will contribute to improving automation, standardization, and scalability of data solutions. This is a strategic role with direct impact on business continuity and the modernization of data platforms.

Accountabilities:

• Lead the migration of data pipelines, integrations, and data consumption processes from AWS to GCP within data science and analytics initiatives.
• Adapt SQL queries, data workflows, and processing logic to ensure compatibility with GCP services and dialects.
• Perform data validation, functional testing, and consistency checks to guarantee accuracy during and after migration.
• Support the migration of machine learning workloads to equivalent GCP services, ensuring operational stability and performance.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Architecture, and MLOps teams to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
• Identify and resolve performance, compatibility, and governance issues arising during cloud transition activities.
• Document technical workflows, architectural decisions, and data flow transformations related to migration efforts.
• Contribute to the standardization and automation of data pipelines and analytical processes.

Requirements:

• Solid experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer working in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization and adaptation across environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data manipulation and processing.
• Experience with data pipelines, integrations, and distributed data systems.
• Proven ability to perform data validation and testing in migration or transformation projects.
• Familiarity with analytical and data services in both AWS and GCP ecosystems.
• Ability to work autonomously in complex technical environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, or similar GCP services is a plus.
• Knowledge of MLOps practices, orchestration tools, and observability frameworks is a strong advantage.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
