Cobol Developer

This role is focused on maintaining and evolving critical mainframe systems within a high-impact financial environment. You will work on the development and support of COBOL-based applications, ensuring stability, performance, and seamless integration with enterprise databases. The position involves close collaboration with technical teams and clients, requiring clear communication and a proactive mindset to anticipate and solve issues efficiently. Accountabilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications within a mainframe environment
- Integrate applications with databases such as DB2, ensuring data consistency and performance
- Perform technical refinement and participate in system analysis and solution design
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients, ensuring clear communication on daily activities and technical decisions
- Anticipate risks and issues, proactively developing preventive and corrective solutions
- Support debugging, testing, and deployment processes using mainframe tools
- Ensure system stability and contribute to continuous improvement of legacy applications
- Proven experience as a COBOL Developer in mainframe environments
- Strong knowledge of CICS, DB2, JCL, TSO, VSAM, CHANGEMAN, and debugging tools
- Solid understanding of SQL and database integration (DB2 preferred)
- Experience working with legacy systems and enterprise-level mainframe architecture
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Good communication skills for interaction with technical teams and stakeholders
- Experience with Hexavision is required
- Availability for occasional commuting to Osasco (2x per schedule)
- Java and JIRA experience is considered a plus
