Court Filing Legal Assistant
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Court Filing Legal Assistant based in Brazil.
This is a fully remote opportunity supporting attorneys and legal teams in a fast-paced U.S. law firm environment.
The role focuses on court filing coordination, case management, legal documentation, and administrative support.
You will help keep matters moving by tracking deadlines, organizing case files, and ensuring filings are completed accurately and on time.
The position involves regular coordination with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and Judicial Assistants.
You will manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy, responsiveness, and confidentiality.

Accountabilities:
- Manage calendars for court deadlines, hearings, depositions, meetings, and attorney schedules, ensuring key dates are accurately tracked.
- Prepare, review, format, and electronically file pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
- Monitor filing deadlines and outstanding tasks, following up proactively to ensure timely completion.
- Maintain accurate case records, legal documentation, discovery materials, and organized matter files.
- Open new matters and manage case information and workflows using Clio Manage.
- Support multiple attorneys with legal administrative, case management, calendaring, and client-support activities.
- Draft, revise, proofread, and format legal documents and professional correspondence.
- Communicate professionally and efficiently with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and Judicial Assistants.
- Support billing processes by reviewing billable and non-billable activities and assisting with time entry.
- Help coordinate discovery materials and ensure documents are properly organized and accessible.
- Provide additional administrative and client support as required while adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
- 2–3 years of experience handling court filings within a U.S. law firm.
- Previous experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Demonstrated experience with electronic filing of pleadings, motions, and court documents; Florida e-Filing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience supporting discovery processes, document management, and legal case organization.
- Strong ability to draft, revise, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence.
- Previous exposure to legal billing and time entry is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and respond effectively to changing requirements.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills and a professional approach when interacting with clients and legal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Clio Manage, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Outlook, Florida e-Filing Portal, and DocuSign.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, responsiveness, and sound judgment are essential.
- Availability to work 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time (EST/EDT).
- Monthly compensation: USD 1,150–1,220.
