Data architect (Fabric)

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and evolving modern, cloud-first data architectures that support large-scale analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You will work at the intersection of engineering, analytics, and business strategy, defining how data is structured, stored, and consumed across the organization. The position is focused on building scalable solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services, ensuring performance, governance, and reliability. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical architectures. This is a high-impact role where your decisions will directly influence data strategy and decision-making capabilities. It is ideal for someone who enjoys shaping end-to-end data ecosystems in complex, distributed environments.

Accountabilities

You will lead the design and implementation of scalable data architectures, ensuring that data platforms are efficient, secure, and aligned with business needs. You will also define standards and best practices for data management across the organization.

• Design and implement end-to-end data architecture solutions using Microsoft Fabric
• Define and maintain data models, including lakehouse, warehouse, and hybrid architectures
• Lead the development of scalable, high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines
• Ensure optimal data storage, processing, and retrieval strategies for performance and cost efficiency
• Establish and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies within the Microsoft data ecosystem
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to engineering teams
• Ensure adherence to data quality and regulatory requirements

Requirements

You should bring strong experience in data architecture within cloud environments, with deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure ecosystems. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for this role.

• 5+ years of experience in Data Architecture or similar roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Factory, Synapse integration, etc.)
• Solid experience with Azure data services (Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory)
• Strong expertise in data modeling (dimensional and relational models)
• Proficiency in SQL and large-scale data processing
• Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
• Experience in cloud-native data environments
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Nice to have: experience mentoring teams and defining enterprise data standards
