This role is focused on the development, maintenance, and evolution of critical systems running in mainframe environments, with strong relevance in the banking sector. The professional will work across the full development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to production support and incident resolution. It is a highly collaborative position, interacting with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure system stability and continuous improvement. The role also involves supporting production deployments and ensuring the reliability of legacy and modernized systems. Accountabilities
- Actively participate in the analysis and understanding of technical and business requirements to support system evolution and maintenance.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications in mainframe environments using COBOL (Batch and/or CICS).
- Execute unit and integration testing to ensure system quality and reliability before deployment.
- Support production deployments and monitor system behavior in live environments.
- Handle system incidents, performing analysis and providing timely resolutions as part of the support team.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective delivery.
- Solid experience in COBOL development (Batch and/or CICS) in mainframe environments.
- Hands-on experience with mainframe systems and related tools.
- Knowledge of JCL for job control and batch processing.
- Experience with DB2 databases and SQL for data manipulation and queries.
- Familiarity with application support processes and incident analysis/resolution.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in collaborative environments.
- Experience in banking environments, Assembler, Control-M, Changeman, File Manager, TSO/E, Jira, and Confluence will be considered a strong plus.
