This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Desenvolvedor(a) de Software Pleno | iGaming based in Brazil.

This role focuses on building and evolving scalable digital applications and platforms within a high-volume technology environment.
You will work primarily on backend development, distributed systems, APIs, and reliable software solutions designed for scale.
The position covers the full software lifecycle, from technical analysis and architecture through coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
You will collaborate closely with engineering peers to deliver solutions that prioritize quality, performance, security, and reliability.
The role offers hands-on exposure to modern backend technologies, cloud environments, observability, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development tools.
You will also contribute to code reviews, refactoring, troubleshooting, and the technical evolution of critical systems.
This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity for a mid-level software engineer with strong backend experience and an interest in iGaming platforms.

Accountabilities:

• Analyze technical and functional requirements, identifying risks, dependencies, technical challenges, and potential implementation constraints before development begins.
• Design, develop, test, and document software solutions following engineering best practices such as Clean Code, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Build and maintain backend applications using Java and/or Kotlin with Spring.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs, ensuring reliable communication between services within distributed architectures.
• Apply distributed-systems patterns such as idempotency, eventual consistency, retries, dead-letter queues, partial-failure handling, recovery strategies, and state machines.
• Work with relational and non-relational databases to support scalable and reliable applications.
• Diagnose and resolve software defects while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and enhanced user experience.
• Ensure application quality, security, performance, and reliability throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Monitor application performance and availability using observability and monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace and Grafana.
• Participate in code reviews and refactoring initiatives, helping improve maintainability, technical quality, and engineering standards.
• Contribute to CI/CD practices and automated delivery processes.
• Use modern AI-assisted coding tools where appropriate to improve development efficiency and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with engineering peers and stakeholders to communicate technical decisions, document solutions, and deliver high-quality software.

Requirements

• Degree or formal education in technology, or relevant courses and certifications demonstrating equivalent technical knowledge.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Java and/or Kotlin and the Spring framework.
• Solid knowledge of REST APIs and service-to-service integrations.
• Practical understanding of distributed systems and concepts including idempotency, eventual consistency, retry mechanisms, DLQs, partial failures, recovery, and state machines.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and non-relational databases such as MongoDB.
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing practices.
• Experience with Docker, Git, Git Flow, CI/CD practices, and related tooling.
• Familiarity with observability platforms and practices, including tools such as Dynatrace and Grafana.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles including SOLID and design patterns.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, is an advantage.
• Exposure to high-scale distributed systems is preferred.
• Experience conducting code reviews and refactoring high-criticality codebases is a plus.
• Strong analytical and objective problem-solving skills.
• Clear and straightforward communication skills for teamwork and technical documentation.
• Strong commitment to software quality and reliable delivery.
• Ownership mindset, with the ability to take responsibility for the systems and solutions you build.
• Technical English proficiency, particularly for reading and writing.
