Accountabilities:

The Senior Backend Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving backend solutions while ensuring scalability, reliability, and adherence to engineering best practices.

• Develop and implement high-quality backend solutions using Java and/or Kotlin.
• Participate actively in software architecture design and technical decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify, analyze, and solve complex technical challenges.
• Apply best practices in software development, including clean code, automated testing, and agile methodologies.
• Design and maintain scalable systems focused on performance, security, and resilience.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge with team members.
• Act as a technical reference point, supporting engineering decisions and guiding development practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and system reliability.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has strong backend development experience, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively while taking ownership of complex solutions.

Technical Skills:

• Strong experience with Java and/or Kotlin development.
• Knowledge of scalable software architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with microservices architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Experience working with relational and distributed databases.
• Understanding of API security practices and resilient system design.
• Knowledge of resilience patterns such as Circuit Breaker.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or OCI.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of automated testing, including unit, integration, and load testing.
• Experience with observability tools such as ELK and Prometheus.
• Previous experience with code reviews and acting as a technical focal point.
