DevOps Engineer

This role is focused on building and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure for complex, real-time robotic systems operating in production environments. You will work closely with a distributed engineering team to design, optimize, and support infrastructure that enables reliable software delivery and system execution at scale. The position involves deep engagement with build systems, deployment pipelines, and Kubernetes-based environments, with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and fault tolerance. You will contribute to critical infrastructure decisions spanning networking, Linux systems, and distributed architecture design. This is a highly technical role suited for engineers who thrive in challenging, fast-paced environments and enjoy solving complex systems problems. Your work will directly support next-generation robotics solutions deployed in real-world applications.

Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure supporting real-time, safety-critical robotic systems in production environments.
• Develop and optimize performance-critical services and tooling using Python and C++ in complex distributed systems.
• Manage and enhance build systems (e.g., Bazel) across large, polyglot codebases to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Deploy, package, and maintain applications in Kubernetes-based environments, including edge and distributed deployments.
• Support system integration efforts across networking layers, distributed services, and fault-tolerant communication systems.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, build workflows, and deployment automation to increase reliability and developer productivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define infrastructure requirements and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues in Linux-based systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making for scalable infrastructure design.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or related roles with strong Python expertise.
• Strong experience with Bazel or similar build systems in large-scale, multi-language repositories.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking protocols, and fault-tolerant architectures.
• Advanced proficiency in Linux systems, including debugging, performance tuning, and system internals.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for application deployment, orchestration, and scaling.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment workflows.
• Strong system design and troubleshooting skills in complex, production-grade environments.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Bonus: experience with edge computing, container runtimes, or robotics infrastructure.
• Bonus: contributions to open-source infrastructure or build tooling projects.
