This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing regional communications strategy across Latin America within a mission-driven organization dedicated to expanding access to life-changing healthcare. You will lead strategic storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and multi-channel communications that strengthen institutional reputation and deepen partner relationships. Operating within a complex global matrix environment, you will translate global priorities into culturally relevant regional narratives and campaigns. The role requires a strong ability to bring structure to complexity while building scalable communications systems and governance. You will oversee internal and external communications, partner engagement, and regional visibility initiatives across key LATAM markets. This is a high-impact position for an experienced communications leader passionate about purpose-driven work and measurable social impact.


Accountabilities:

You will lead the development and execution of regional communications strategy across Latin America, ensuring alignment with global priorities while strengthening brand visibility, stakeholder engagement, and mission impact:

  • Design and implement LATAM communications strategy, including governance models, workflows, and performance measurement frameworks
  • Lead strategic storytelling and institutional narrative development to enhance reputation, awareness, and partner engagement
  • Oversee multi-channel communications including digital, social media, PR, newsletters, and institutional content
  • Build and lead a high-performing regional communications function, including team development, mentoring, and organizational structure
  • Manage internal communications to ensure alignment, transparency, and cohesion across regional and global teams
  • Coordinate external agencies, vendors, and partners, ensuring quality execution, budget alignment, and timely delivery
  • Drive communications planning for regional events, medical congresses, and stakeholder engagement initiatives
  • Act as key liaison between regional and global communications teams to ensure consistency and cultural relevance
  • Requirements:

    You are an experienced communications leader with a strong background in mission-driven, healthcare, or nonprofit environments, capable of leading regional strategy in complex organizational settings:

    • 15+ years of progressive experience in communications leadership roles, including regional or global scope
    • Proven experience in nonprofit, public health, healthcare, or similarly mission-driven organizations
    • Strong track record of building or transforming communications functions, including governance and scalable processes
    • Experience operating within complex, matrixed global organizations
    • Demonstrated expertise in strategic communications, campaign leadership, and multi-channel storytelling
    • Exceptional executive communication, writing, and presentation skills across diverse audiences
    • Fluency in English, Portuguese, and Spanish is required
    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field (Master’s preferred)
    • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural collaboration skills
