This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Engenheiro de Dados Sênior (Crédito) based in Brazil.

This is a senior data engineering opportunity focused on building reliable and scalable data solutions for credit operations.
You will help structure the data foundations that support credit origination, portfolio monitoring, risk analysis, profitability, and decision-making.
The role combines data pipelines, analytical modeling, cloud technologies, governance, and real-time and batch processing.
You will work closely with credit specialists, data scientists, decision engines, MIS teams, and technology stakeholders.
Your work will directly contribute to the quality, availability, traceability, and consistency of critical financial data.

The position follows a flexible work model, with hybrid opportunities in Porto Alegre or São Paulo and remote options for professionals elsewhere in Brazil.

Accountabilities:

• Structure, integrate, and maintain the data required for credit origination, servicing, monitoring, and related processes, ensuring scalable, available, and efficient solutions.
• Build and evolve the credit analytics layer, including datamarts, historical datasets, indicators, and reusable components supporting portfolio, delinquency, profitability, policy, and operational analysis.
• Prepare and make data available for analytical models and decision engines, ensuring consistency of variables across development, production, and monitoring environments.
• Develop solutions supporting both batch and real-time data processing according to business and technical requirements.
• Implement data quality, governance, documentation, traceability, and observability controls while ensuring alignment with information security, privacy, and LGPD requirements.
• Translate credit strategy and business needs into robust technical data solutions, working closely with credit specialists, data scientists, MIS, decision-engine teams, and technology and data teams.
• Participate in data architecture decisions, backlog prioritization, and technical impact assessments related to new credit policies, products, integrations, and information sources.
• Promote data engineering best practices, contributing to the reliability, maintainability, scalability, and continuous improvement of data products and pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education qualification.
• Solid professional experience in data engineering, including the development of data pipelines and analytical data models.
• Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming, validating, and optimizing large datasets.
• Professional experience with Python or an equivalent programming language applied to data engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing.
• Experience with Databricks or a comparable data and analytics platform.
• Knowledge of cloud data architecture, preferably within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Experience designing and maintaining ETL and ELT processes.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, datamarts, and analytical data structures.
• Experience using Git for source-code version control.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices applied to data pipelines and data products.
• Experience consuming and exposing data through APIs.
• Familiarity with automated testing, pipeline monitoring, failure handling, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of data security, access controls, privacy, and governance principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with effective communication and collaboration skills.
