This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer GCP/DBT in Brazil.

This role is focused on designing and delivering scalable, high-performance data solutions on Google Cloud Platform within a fast-paced and results-driven environment. You will work on complex data engineering challenges involving large-scale pipelines, modern data warehouse architectures, and cloud-native processing frameworks. Acting as a key technical contributor, you will help define data models, optimize data flows, and ensure the reliability, security, and cost efficiency of end-to-end data platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. This position also involves strong ownership of architecture decisions, data governance, and continuous improvement of data systems. Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures on GCP using services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataproc
• Develop ELT/ETL workflows using tools like dbt, Dataflow, or Spark (PySpark) to process and transform large datasets
• Define and optimize data models, including partitioning and clustering strategies in BigQuery for performance and cost efficiency
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to provision and manage cloud resources securely and efficiently
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security through IAM policies and best practices for cloud environments
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines, jobs, and queries to ensure high performance and reliability
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define architecture standards, documentation, and best practices for data engineering

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataproc
• Proven experience with dbt and data transformation workflows
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and solid experience with Python and PySpark for data engineering tasks
• Experience designing and optimizing distributed data processing pipelines and data lake/lakehouse architectures
• Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Dataflow, Composer, or similar
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and cloud security concepts (IAM, VPC, networking)
• Familiarity with Git/GitFlow and agile development methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance, scalability, and cost optimization
• Experience with monitoring, debugging, and maintaining production data systems
