This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Expert Audio Transcriber, Hebrew based in Brazil.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the development of advanced speech recognition and AI evaluation systems.
You will transform recordings of native Hebrew speakers into accurate, carefully formatted written transcripts.
The audio will range from controlled studio recordings to natural conversations captured in real-world acoustic environments.
Your linguistic judgment will be essential when handling dialectal speech, code-switching, speaker changes, disfluencies, and non-speech sounds.
You will work with project-specific transcription standards while maintaining exceptional word-level accuracy and consistency.
The environment is flexible and remote, with opportunities to collaborate with linguistic and quality-assurance specialists.
This is expert linguistic work where attention to detail and cultural and linguistic fidelity directly influence AI system quality.

Accountabilities

  • Transcribe Hebrew audio recordings into accurate, time-aligned written text while consistently following project-specific style and formatting guidelines.

  • Apply appropriate conventions for speaker identification, overlapping speech, fillers, disfluencies, false starts, laughter, background noise, music, and other non-speech events.

  • Make informed orthographic decisions when working with colloquial, dialectal, formal, and code-switched Hebrew speech.

  • Accurately handle Hebrew-English, Hebrew-Russian, and Hebrew-Arabic code-switching where applicable.

  • Flag ambiguous audio segments, uncertain speaker attribution, and recording-quality issues according to established project conventions.

  • Conduct a thorough self-review of every submission before delivery to ensure it meets the required quality standards.

  • Participate in calibration sessions and collaborate with QA reviewers on complex linguistic cases, edge cases, and updates to transcription guidelines.

  • Maintain consistent productivity and accuracy while working within defined project deadlines and weekly volume expectations.

  • Requirements

    • Native-level fluency in Modern Hebrew, supported by lifelong residence or deep linguistic and cultural immersion in Israel.

    • Excellent reading and writing skills in Hebrew script, with the ability to work with or without niqqud according to project requirements.

    • At least two years of professional experience in transcription, captioning, court reporting, broadcast, translation, linguistic annotation, or a closely related field.

    • Demonstrated ability to produce highly accurate word-level transcripts under deadline pressure.

    • Strong familiarity with both colloquial and formal Hebrew registers and the nuances of everyday spoken language.

    • Comfortable identifying and accurately representing Hebrew-English, Hebrew-Russian, or Hebrew-Arabic code-switching.

    • Strong attention to detail, consistency, linguistic judgment, and ability to follow detailed style specifications.

    • Comfortable using web-based annotation platforms and variable-speed audio playback tools.

    • Reliable high-speed internet, quality headphones, and access to a quiet workspace.

    • Ability to commit to a defined volume of work per week during active project phases.

    • Background in Hebrew linguistics, translation, journalism, media, or speech-data annotation is a plus.

    • Working knowledge of Yiddish, Arabic, or Russian, familiarity with IPA or phonetic transcription systems, and experience with verbatim or clean-verbatim conventions are advantageous.

    • Benefits

      • Paid pilot task before full onboarding, allowing both sides to establish expectations and calibrate quality standards.

      • Per-task or per-minute compensation, with rates adjusted according to audio complexity and turnaround requirements.

      • Flexible scheduling that allows workload to increase or decrease according to active project needs.

      • Remote work environment with the flexibility to manage your schedule around project commitments.

      • Direct collaboration with experienced linguistic leads and quality-assurance specialists.

      • Opportunity to work on speech recognition, dialogue, and AI evaluation projects with real-world impact.

      • Potential invitations to additional expert projects in related linguistic and AI domains.

      • Opportunity to apply advanced Hebrew language expertise to emerging AI technologies.
