Accountabilities:

The Innovation Funding (Case) Manager will oversee operational activities, team performance, and quality standards to ensure successful delivery of innovation funding projects. This role requires strong leadership, organizational expertise, and the ability to solve complex challenges in fast-paced funding environments.

• Support and manage a distributed international team of consultants, promoting operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate workload planning, consultant allocation, and case assignments based on expertise, capacity, and project requirements.
• Partner with business development teams to evaluate incoming opportunities and determine strategic approaches for each case.
• Oversee the complete grant writing lifecycle, ensuring high-quality deliverables from initial preparation through final submission.
• Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with funding requirements and internal standards.
• Monitor workflows, identify operational improvements, and optimize processes to increase efficiency and consistency.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and feedback to support consultant development and strengthen team capabilities.
• Act as a hands-on problem solver by addressing technical, strategic, or narrative challenges during critical project phases.
• Ensure projects align with innovation funding frameworks, best practices, and client success objectives.
• Contribute to strategic decisions related to operations, team development, and organizational growth.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced operational leader with a strong background in innovation funding, grant writing, consulting, or related fields. They should combine strategic thinking with strong people management and execution skills.

• 10+ years of experience in operational leadership roles, innovation consultancy, public funding, grant writing, or related areas.
• Proven experience managing and developing distributed teams of highly skilled professionals.
• Strong knowledge of innovation funding programs, particularly Horizon Europe or similar European funding frameworks.
• Experience leading complex projects with strict deadlines and high quality standards.
• Strong expertise in lead qualification, stakeholder management, contract discussions, and strategic decision-making.
• Ability to design and improve operational processes while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environments.
• Resilient mindset with the ability to handle demanding funding cycles and time-sensitive deliverables.
• Advanced communication skills and the ability to collaborate with international teams.
• Master’s degree, MBA, PhD, or equivalent advanced qualification in Business Administration, Management, STEM, or a related field.
• Fluent English proficiency at C1/C2 level is mandatory.
