Java Backend Developer | MID

This role is focused on building and evolving backend services that power digital banking simulations and financial operations. You will work on designing and implementing robust REST APIs that support account management and secure money transfers between customers. The position involves developing business-critical logic for financial transactions while ensuring high standards of data consistency and system reliability. You will collaborate in an engineering-driven environment that values clean architecture, scalability, and strong software craftsmanship. The role also includes working with modern backend technologies and participating in the full development lifecycle, from design to deployment. Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services that simulate banking operations and ensure reliable financial transactions.

• Develop REST APIs for account management, transfers, and digital banking simulations
• Implement and maintain business rules for financial operations and transaction processing
• Model, persist, and manage relational data using Spring Data JPA
• Ensure transactional integrity, data consistency, and concurrency control in critical systems
• Implement post-transaction processes such as notifications and event handling
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and business rule validation
• Document APIs using Swagger and maintain technical documentation standards
• Apply best practices in architecture, code versioning, and secure software development

Requirements

You bring solid experience in backend development with a strong focus on Java ecosystems and enterprise-grade APIs. You are comfortable working with financial logic, data consistency challenges, and scalable backend architectures.

• Experience developing REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Strong knowledge of Spring Data JPA and relational database modeling
• Understanding of transactions, concurrency control, and data consistency
• Experience implementing business rules for financial or transactional systems
• Hands-on experience with unit testing frameworks and test-driven practices
• Ability to document APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices, clean architecture, and version control (Git)
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset
