This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity to lead the reliability strategy behind advanced AI-powered products operating at enterprise scale.
You will design and evolve cloud infrastructure that supports mission-critical systems where performance, availability, and trust are essential.
The role combines Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps leadership, and cloud architecture expertise to solve complex technical challenges.
You will influence engineering standards, improve operational excellence, and shape how AI platforms run reliably in production.
Working closely with product and engineering leaders, you will have significant ownership over architecture, automation, and resilience practices.
This position is ideal for a senior infrastructure professional who enjoys innovation, technical leadership, and building scalable systems.

Accountabilities:

  • Define and drive platform reliability strategies, including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and reliability practices for AI-powered services.
  • Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud architectures supporting distributed AI workloads and enterprise applications.
  • Develop observability solutions that provide deep visibility into system health, performance, and AI-specific behaviors such as model drift, regressions, and inference issues.
  • Implement resilience engineering practices, including failover strategies, graceful degradation, circuit breakers, and fault-injection testing.
  • Lead infrastructure automation initiatives using infrastructure-as-code principles, with a focus on Terraform, reducing manual effort and operational complexity.
  • Establish production readiness standards and ensure teams follow reliable deployment and operational practices for new products and features.
  • Drive architecture discussions, technical reviews, and engineering best practices across teams.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture focused on reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, CI/CD pipelines, and operational tooling to support high-performing systems.
  • Partner with engineering and product stakeholders to ensure infrastructure decisions align with business goals and customer impact.
  • Requirements:

    • Significant experience in infrastructure engineering, combining DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices in large-scale production environments.
    • Strong expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP); AWS experience is considered a plus, along with relevant cloud certifications.
    • Proven experience implementing SRE principles, including SLO/SLI design, error budgets, incident management, and reducing operational toil.
    • Strong understanding of distributed systems, failure scenarios, and resilience engineering patterns.
    • Advanced experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation.
    • Hands-on experience with observability platforms, including metrics, tracing, logging, and monitoring solutions such as OpenTelemetry or Sentry.
    • Familiarity with AI-focused observability tools and production challenges related to LLM-powered applications.
    • Experience with API management platforms, particularly Apigee and Cloud Run, is highly valued.
    • Ability to work with scripting and programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and Bash for infrastructure tooling.
    • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
    • Experience with LLM provider integrations, event-driven architectures, chaos engineering practices, or GCP certifications is considered a strong advantage.
    • Benefits:

      • Fully remote work opportunity for candidates based in Brazil.
      • Flexible work arrangements, including optional office access for eligible locations.
      • Opportunity to lead infrastructure initiatives supporting innovative AI-powered products.
      • High-impact role with ownership over reliability, architecture, and engineering standards.
      • Collaboration with experienced global teams across engineering, product, and technology functions.
      • Exposure to cutting-edge cloud technologies, AI platforms, and large-scale distributed systems.
      • Professional growth opportunities through complex technical challenges and leadership responsibilities.
      • Inclusive and collaborative environment focused on innovation, diversity, and continuous learning.
