Master Data Developer (Amazon Neptune)
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Master Data Developer (Amazon Neptune) based in Brazil.
This is a hands-on data engineering opportunity focused on building a knowledge graph that powers intelligent, AI-driven recommendations.
You will own the graph data layer, from schema design and entity ingestion to entity resolution and query optimization.
The role sits within a specialized Data & Analytics environment and supports an AI-powered platform in the fashion and retail space.
You will collaborate closely with machine learning and generative AI specialists to ensure the graph meets retrieval and recommendation needs.
Your work will directly influence the relevance, ranking, and speed of recommendations delivered to end users.
The position requires strong technical ownership, autonomy, and the ability to operate effectively within an established international client team.
It is an excellent opportunity for a graph database specialist looking to work at the intersection of data engineering, knowledge graphs, and generative AI.
Accountabilities:
- Design and maintain graph schemas, defining node labels and edge types that accurately represent relationships among designers, garments, style attributes, trends, occasions, and editorial content.
- Build batch ingestion workflows that consume structured JSON payloads and load relevant entities and relationships into the graph database.
- Develop entity resolution processes to match extracted product mentions with the appropriate products across catalogs containing 50,000+ SKUs, using attribute scoring, confidence thresholds, and deduplication techniques.
- Establish relationship weights based on the prominence of products or trends within editorial content, helping determine ranking and prioritization in AI-generated recommendations.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain openCypher queries, including multi-hop traversals, with a focus on achieving response times below three seconds for downstream AI agents.
- Collaborate with machine learning and generative AI specialists to align the graph structure, retrieval capabilities, and data models with recommendation requirements.
- Contribute to technical validation and interviews for new professionals joining the graph database workstream when required.
- Advanced English proficiency at C1 level or above, with the ability to communicate autonomously with international stakeholders.
- Solid professional experience with Amazon Neptune and property graph data modeling.
- Strong experience writing and optimizing openCypher queries, including multi-hop traversals under latency constraints.
- Experience designing graph schemas and evaluating trade-offs between alternative modeling approaches.
- Hands-on experience developing entity resolution solutions, including fuzzy matching, scoring algorithms, and deduplication across multiple data sources.
- Strong Python skills applied to data engineering and batch processing of structured data.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical deliverables, and operate effectively in a fast-paced staff augmentation environment.
- Experience in fashion, retail, or e-commerce catalogs is considered a plus.
- AWS certification in databases or data analytics is desirable.
- Experience integrating graph databases with generative AI agents, such as Amazon Bedrock Agents, is an advantage.
- Familiarity with recommendation systems or ranking and weighting logic for content surfacing is a plus.
- Health and dental insurance.
- Meal and food allowances.
- Childcare assistance.

- Language learning platform.
- Employee discount club.
- Free online resources focused on physical, mental, and overall well-being.
- Pregnancy and responsible parenting courses.
- Remote work model with the flexibility associated with a home-office environment.
- Dedicated health, well-being, and inclusion support throughout the employee journey.
- Inclusion specialists and affinity groups to help foster an accessible and supportive workplace.
