Accountabilities:

The Backend Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and improving scalable backend systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical excellence and operational reliability.

• Develop and maintain robust backend solutions using Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot for synchronous and asynchronous processes.
• Design and evolve microservices architectures, APIs, and event-driven solutions focused on scalability and performance.
• Use AI-powered development tools and assistants to accelerate coding, refactoring, documentation, and test creation while ensuring technical quality.
• Build and maintain high-quality software through unit testing, integration testing, code reviews, and adherence to engineering best practices.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues, performing root cause analysis and improving system stability.
• Monitor application performance through logs, telemetry, and observability practices to identify risks and optimization opportunities.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies, technical refinements, pair programming, and collaborative problem-solving initiatives.
• Implement secure integrations using CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and cloud-based solutions.
• Evaluate integration risks and define mitigation strategies to ensure system availability, reliability, and security.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, improving code structure, maintainability, and future scalability.
• Apply security best practices, monitor vulnerabilities, and support compliance with information security standards.
• Promote engineering standards, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the development team.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer with strong technical foundations, a problem-solving mindset, and experience building reliable systems in modern development environments.

• Solid experience with Java/Kotlin and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ and asynchronous event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle, with familiarity with NoSQL solutions.
• Practical experience using AI development tools or AI agents to improve software engineering productivity.
• Experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience working with agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability practices.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated tests, including unit and integration tests.
• Strong understanding of software quality principles, clean architecture, and sustainable system evolution.
• Advanced knowledge of Git and modern software development workflows.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and solve complex technical problems.
• Experience with information security practices, including encryption, authentication, session management, and access control.
• Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and ability to make technical decisions.
• Experience with high-volume systems, logistics platforms, or complex operational environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of Kotlin, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic is considered an advantage.
