This role is designed for a highly experienced technical leader who will drive the architecture, delivery, and evolution of a complex, large-scale digital platform used across multiple business initiatives. You will lead engineering squads responsible for critical backend systems built in Java, ensuring scalability, stability, and high performance in a highly integrated ecosystem. The environment is fast-paced and distributed, requiring strong coordination across multiple teams, stakeholders, and platforms. You will play a key role in defining technical standards, improving system reliability, and guiding architectural decisions in cloud-native and microservices-based environments. This position combines hands-on engineering leadership with strategic influence over platform direction. Accountabilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of critical backend solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.
• Make architectural decisions for distributed systems, balancing performance, maintainability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Guide and support engineering squads through code reviews, technical mentoring, and promotion of engineering best practices.
• Define and enforce standards for REST APIs, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and system integrations.
• Design and oversee robust CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools to support multi-environment deployments.
• Strengthen system observability and reliability through monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Define and enforce security guidelines to reduce vulnerabilities and ensure production stability.

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Java (Spring Boot) and microservices architecture.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services (EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS) and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Strong expertise in observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
• Solid understanding of secure software engineering practices, including IAM, SAST, and DAST.
• Strong ability to make architectural trade-off decisions based on system design, performance, and scalability.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, refactoring, and resolving complex technical issues.
• Leadership experience in guiding teams, setting standards, and promoting engineering excellence.
• Nice to have: experience with canary deployments, blue-green deployments, and advanced release strategies.
• Nice to have: experience defining internal API, authentication, and versioning standards.
• Nice to have: experience with disaster recovery strategies and production resilience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders in a remote environment.
