PI Analyst

This role focuses on supporting and optimizing industrial data infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance of PI systems and related databases across complex environments. You will be responsible for managing PI Historians and AF SQL servers, enabling secure, efficient, and high-quality data flows used in operational and business decision-making. Acting as a key technical reference, you will collaborate closely with PI analysts and workflow teams to ensure proper tag creation, data structuring, and system integration. The position requires strong analytical thinking and hands-on technical expertise to support high-resolution, real-time industrial data environments. You will also contribute to interface design, troubleshooting, and system optimization, ensuring scalability and performance. This is a highly technical and collaborative role suited for professionals who enjoy working at the intersection of data engineering, industrial systems, and process optimization.

Accountabilities:

• Manage PI Historians, including user access, tag creation, security configuration, and system interfaces
• Administer AF SQL servers, including database creation, modification, access control, and security management
• Collaborate with PI analysts to define and implement workflow tags on in-country PI Historians for operational outputs
• Support the development and maintenance of AF structures, including templates, elements, attributes, and analyses
• Ensure proper integration and performance of PI systems across multiple environments and data sources
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot industrial data interfaces (OPC UA, OPC DA, PI-to-PI, PI System Connector)
• Support configuration of high-volume, high-resolution data systems and ensure data integrity and performance
• Contribute to automation and optimization of data pipelines and troubleshooting processes
• Work closely with business and technical teams to translate requirements into data structures and solutions
• Provide technical documentation and support continuous system improvement

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with PI Systems and/or PI AF
• Strong understanding of sensor data and industrial data environments
• Experience with AF Client, AF Builder, and PI tag configuration
• Knowledge of data archive systems and PI database interconnectivity
• Experience designing and managing industrial data interfaces (OPC UA, OPC DA, PI-to-PI, PI System Connector)
• Ability to configure high-tag-count, high-frequency data systems
• Advanced SQL skills (SQL Server, Oracle, or similar databases)
• Experience with data manipulation tools such as Excel, Access, and TOAD
• Knowledge of programming languages such as VB and ability to write code when needed
• Understanding of DevOps and Agile practices applied to data-centric solutions
• Familiarity with data visualization tools
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Strong communication skills with advanced English proficiency
• Ability to translate business needs into technical data solutions and vice versa
• Leadership skills to guide technical discussions and coordinate deliverables
