QA Automation Engineer

This role focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of digital products through advanced test automation practices.
The professional will contribute to agile engineering teams by designing, implementing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks for complex software solutions.
You will collaborate closely with developers, technical teams, and international stakeholders to improve release quality and reduce production issues.
The position combines software testing expertise, automation engineering, debugging skills, and a strong understanding of modern development workflows.

Accountabilities:
The QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation solutions, improving testing processes, and ensuring software quality throughout the development lifecycle. The main responsibilities include:
- Acting as a self-sufficient QA Automation Engineer within agile development teams.
- Reviewing technical architecture documentation and ensuring implementations meet defined requirements.
- Designing, implementing, maintaining, and managing automated test frameworks with effective reporting capabilities.
- Creating automated tests alongside the development of new user interfaces and features.
- Supporting manual testing activities and converting manual test cases into automated scenarios.
- Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with technical operations teams.
- Defining and maintaining test plans, documentation, automation scripts, and technical guidelines.
- Collaborating with developers to plan, execute, and manage testing strategies for new features.
- Maximizing test coverage for critical functionalities and prioritizing automation based on business risk.
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects with clear reproduction steps.
- Investigating automation failures, debugging issues, and implementing solutions independently or collaboratively.
- Performing root-cause analysis and supporting resolution of technical challenges.
- Supporting customer issue investigations and improving application reliability.
- Monitoring quality standards throughout development and release cycles.
- Participating in technical reviews, process improvement initiatives, and proof-of-concept activities.
- Staying updated on QA automation best practices, security standards, compliance requirements, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborating effectively with distributed international teams across multiple time zones.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical fields.
- 2+ years of experience in quality engineering automation testing within cloud-based environments, excluding internships.
- Experience with both manual and automated testing for user interfaces and web services.
- Experience developing QA automation frameworks, scripts, and automated testing solutions.
- Strong programming and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work across the full technology stack, including frontend and backend systems.
- Experience working with Linux and/or macOS environments.
- Understanding of software development processes, CI/CD practices, and agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical and debugging abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
- Authorization to work in Brazil or another Latin American country.
