This role plays an important part in supporting a retrospective review and recovery operations team within a fast-paced, detail-oriented healthcare environment. You will be responsible for managing provider communications, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting the recovery of medical billing and claims information. The position requires frequent interaction with external stakeholders through both phone and written communication, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and responsiveness. You will work closely with internal teams to maintain up-to-date provider records and ensure smooth workflow across recovery processes. Accountabilities

In this role, you will support recovery and claims review operations by managing provider communications, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with healthcare billing standards and procedures.

  • Manage outbound provider billing calls and ensure all interactions are accurately documented in internal systems
  • Respond promptly to incoming recovery line calls and voicemails with professionalism and urgency
  • Research and update provider information to ensure accuracy across internal recovery systems
  • Request and manage medical records in compliance with HIPAA and applicable privacy regulations
  • Prioritize urgent cases and escalate issues according to established recovery protocols
  • Support appeals, denial analysis, and recovery workflows as part of broader team operations
  • Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned by leadership
  • Requirements

    You bring experience in healthcare-related customer service or claims environments, with strong attention to detail and familiarity with medical billing concepts and systems.

    • 2–3 years of experience in customer service, collections, or healthcare receivables preferred
    • Knowledge of medical billing processes, including CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10 coding
    • Understanding of medical terminology, claims review, and reimbursement workflows
    • Experience with appeals, denials, or claims resolution processes
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional phone presence
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks across systems
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows-based applications
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated, and detail-focused environment
