Senior Back-End Engineer

In this role, you will contribute to building and scaling high-performance backend systems within a fast-growing, technology-driven environment. You will play a key role in designing robust architectures, developing secure and efficient services, and ensuring system reliability at scale. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help translate business needs into technical solutions while maintaining high standards of performance and maintainability. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex distributed systems, handle large volumes of data, and continuously improve platform capabilities. You will also mentor peers and drive best practices across engineering teams. It’s an ideal role for engineers who enjoy ownership, innovation, and solving challenging technical problems in a collaborative, remote-first setting.

Accountabilities:

• Design and implement scalable backend solutions, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Develop and maintain APIs, services, and integrations with internal and external systems
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver robust solutions
• Monitor system performance, build dashboards, and implement alerts using observability tools
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes across the stack
• Lead technical initiatives, including architecture discussions, refinements, and task force planning
• Write and maintain high-quality code, including unit and integration tests
• Analyze large volumes of data and logs to ensure system health and performance
• Support and guide operational teams while contributing to knowledge sharing and training

Requirements:

• Strong experience in backend development using Java
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and system design
• Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases
• Familiarity with frontend basics such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, New Relic)
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership, and drive solutions end-to-end
• Experience working with distributed systems and large-scale applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote, international teams
• Comfortable participating in English-speaking environments
