Senior Bioresources Technician

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Bioresources Technician based in Brazil.

This role sits at the heart of large-scale environmental and operational services, supporting the safe and efficient treatment of sludge and the production of high-quality biosolids. You will play a key part in ensuring critical infrastructure runs reliably while contributing to renewable energy generation and environmental sustainability goals. Working closely with operational teams, you will help optimize site performance, maintain compliance, and improve asset reliability across multiple facilities. The position blends hands-on technical oversight with leadership responsibilities, including coaching teams and supporting day-to-day operations. You will operate in a dynamic, safety-critical environment where quality, compliance, and continuous improvement are essential. Accountabilities:

In this role, you will support and lead operational performance across bioresources facilities, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient treatment processes while driving continuous improvement across assets and teams:

• Lead and support site teams to achieve operational KPIs, safety standards, and regulatory compliance across sludge treatment and biosolids production activities.
• Act as deputy operational lead, assisting with day-to-day management of treatment sites, maintenance activities, and performance optimization.
• Ensure strict adherence to environmental permits, biosolids standards, and regulatory frameworks through audits, inspections, and assurance activities.
• Drive asset performance improvements using data analysis, risk assessment tools, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Support health, safety, and environmental excellence by promoting best practices and managing risk in high-hazard operational environments.
• Coordinate contractors, maintenance activities, and operational interventions to ensure safe and efficient delivery of work.
• Contribute to financial and operational planning, ensuring resources are used effectively and performance targets are met.
• Develop and coach team members, fostering capability growth and strong operational engagement across sites.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong operational experience in industrial, utilities, or environmental services environments, along with a solid technical and leadership foundation:

• Experience in a supervisory or senior technician role within wastewater treatment, sludge processing, utilities, or a similar operational environment.
• Strong understanding of treatment processes, asset management, and operational performance optimization.
• Proven ability to manage health, safety, and environmental compliance in high-risk operational settings.
• Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional operational teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data and risk-based tools to solve problems and improve performance.
• Technical background in engineering, process operations, environmental sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coach teams and collaborate across stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
