Senior Engineer BASE24 EPS

This role is a key technical ownership position within mission-critical payment processing environments, focused on the stability, performance, and evolution of Base24 platforms. You will work on complex financial transaction systems supporting ATM and POS networks, ensuring seamless authorization flows in high-availability infrastructures. Operating in a fully remote setup, you will collaborate with global teams, vendors, and business stakeholders across multilingual environments. You will act as a trusted reference for Base24 architecture and operations, influencing decisions that directly impact financial transactions at scale. Accountabilities:

Acting as the technical owner of Base24 environments, you will ensure system stability, performance, and continuous optimization of payment processing platforms supporting ATM and POS transactions. You will also:

• Manage and support Base24 EPS and Base24 Classic architectures, ensuring reliability and operational excellence
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and lead resolution of critical production issues in high-availability environments
• Configure, maintain, and evolve Base24 systems using NonStop tools (TACL, FUP, SCF, EMS, Batchcom, etc.)
• Collaborate with internal teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to resolve cross-platform technical challenges
• Analyze payment authorization flows and ensure compliance with EMV, PIN security, and transaction standards
• Develop scripts, macros, and technical solutions using C, C++, TAL, and TACL to support system enhancements
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and contribute to strategic platform evolution

Requirements:

This role requires strong hands-on experience in payment processing systems and deep knowledge of Base24 environments. You should be comfortable working in complex, mission-critical infrastructures and collaborating across technical and business teams. Required and preferred skills include:

• Strong experience with Base24 EPS and Base24 Classic architecture
• Solid understanding of ATM and POS transaction processing and authorization flows
• Hands-on expertise with NonStop environments and tools (TACL, FUP, SCF, EMS, Batchcom)
• Knowledge of Base24 scripting, XPNET configuration, and NCPCOM utilities
• Programming experience in C, C++, and TAL
• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP) and SQL
• Knowledge of EMV standards, PIN security, and card verification processes
• Experience in troubleshooting and supporting production systems in high-availability environments
• Ability to work in multilingual environments (advanced English and Spanish required)
• Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and ability to collaborate across global stakeholders
• Proactive mindset with ability to handle incidents, prioritize tasks, and drive technical improvements
