This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst based in Brazil.

In this role, you will act as a key financial partner to project teams, supporting the financial management of clinical trials while also contributing to core accounting and month-end close activities. You will bridge operational project finance and general ledger accounting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and control across financial reporting processes. This position plays a critical role in analyzing project performance, monitoring budgets, and identifying financial risks or deviations in real time. You will collaborate closely with project managers, finance leadership, and accounting teams to ensure strong financial governance and decision support. Accountabilities

  • Support project teams in all financial aspects of clinical trial execution, ensuring accurate budget tracking and financial oversight.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly invoicing worksheets used for client billing and revenue recognition.
  • Perform variance analysis comparing forecasted vs. actual revenue to identify gaps, scope changes, and financial risks.
  • Review project work orders and change orders to detect out-of-scope activities and ensure proper financial alignment.
  • Conduct monthly Earned Value Analysis (EVA) in collaboration with project directors and managers.
  • Participate in monthly project financial review meetings as needed, providing insights and analysis.
  • Support the preparation of contract-related financial documentation, including statements of work and change orders.
  • Assist the accounting team with general ledger activities and ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Respond to financial queries from senior leadership, including ad hoc analysis and reporting requests.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial procedures, internal controls, and reporting workflows.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, or project financial management.
    • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial close processes.
    • Experience with project budgeting, financial forecasting, and Earned Value Analysis (EVA).
    • Strong analytical and Excel skills with the ability to manage complex financial data.
    • Familiarity with contract review, work orders, and change order financial impact analysis.
    • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance and operational teams.
    • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving capability.
    • Fluent in English; additional local language proficiency (Spanish) is an advantage.
    • Experience in clinical research (CRO), life sciences, or healthcare environments is a plus.
    • CPA, MBA, or experience with tools such as QuickBooks is considered an advantage.
