Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform based in Brazil.

This role sits at the core of a cutting-edge AI-driven data infrastructure, where you will help design and build the systems that transform complex, real-world data into reliable foundations for enterprise-grade decision-making. You will work on highly scalable data platforms that power production AI systems used in high-stakes domains such as credit, fraud detection, and risk analysis.
The environment is highly technical and research-informed, combining production reliability with advanced data modeling challenges.
You will contribute across the full stack of the data platform, including ingestion systems, APIs, distributed services, and cloud-native infrastructure.
The role requires strong ownership, as you will be responsible for turning ambiguous data problems into robust, scalable engineering solutions.
You will collaborate closely with AI, product, and infrastructure teams to ensure data systems directly enable machine learning and product innovation.

Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain core data platform services including APIs, ingestion pipelines, internal tools, and customer-facing data products.
• Develop and operate distributed systems that integrate data sources, infrastructure, and AI-driven applications at scale.
• Build robust data processing systems capable of handling messy, incomplete, and evolving real-world datasets.
• Manage cloud-native infrastructure and deployment systems across environments such as AWS or GCP.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, performance, and developer experience across engineering workflows.
• Collaborate closely with product, research, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable platform capabilities.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that support long-term scalability and maintainability of the data platform.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in backend, platform, infrastructure, or data-intensive software engineering roles.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Python, Rust, or similar backend languages.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and data processing architectures.
• Proven ability to take ownership of complex, ambiguous problems from design to production.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills with experience diagnosing production system issues.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, event-driven systems, and scalable data architectures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and product teams.
• Experience with machine learning or AI data infrastructure is a strong plus.
