Senior Software Engineer (TS)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (TS) based in Brazil.

This role is an opportunity for an experienced backend-focused engineer to build scalable and reliable software solutions for business-critical financial systems.
You will work on complex revenue and reporting platforms where performance, accuracy, and maintainability are essential.
The position combines strong TypeScript expertise with modern cloud technologies and advanced software architecture practices.
You will take ownership of features from design through deployment, contributing to impactful engineering decisions.
The role involves close collaboration with product, QA, and engineering teams in a distributed remote environment.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services that support critical financial workflows. You will contribute to architectural improvements, engineering best practices, and reliable software delivery across the platform.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript.
• Own features and projects throughout the entire lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to testing and production deployment.
• Build scalable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions for revenue and reporting systems.
• Design, optimize, and maintain database queries and data models.
• Develop reliable services using modern backend frameworks and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards and processes.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, QA Engineers, and engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Support backend architecture evolution and scalability initiatives.
• Ensure smooth delivery of tested, production-ready code in a distributed remote environment.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a senior software engineer with strong backend development experience, excellent TypeScript knowledge, and a passion for building scalable systems. You should have a strong ownership mindset, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently with distributed teams.

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript with deep backend development expertise.
• Solid experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience working with ORMs, preferably Prisma.
• Understanding of software architecture principles and scalability strategies.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and modern software delivery workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical challenges.
• Ability to independently manage projects and drive solutions from concept to delivery.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in remote environments.
• Upper-intermediate English level or higher.

Nice to have:

• Experience with NestJS.
• Experience with Turborepo.
• Familiarity with monorepo environments such as pnpm.
• Experience with React or Next.js.
• Background working with financial systems, reporting platforms, or data-intensive applications.
• Experience in high-ownership engineering environments.
