Slot Game Mathematician

This role is focused on designing, analyzing, and optimizing mathematical models that power engaging slot and crash-style casino games. You will play a key role in shaping how games feel to players by balancing core mechanics such as RTP, volatility, hit rates, and payout structures. The position sits at the intersection of mathematics, game design, and product strategy, requiring both analytical precision and a strong sense of player experience. You will collaborate closely with designers, developers, and product teams to translate creative ideas into well-balanced, production-ready game systems. Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for building and refining the mathematical foundations that define gameplay experience and economic balance in slot and crash-style games.

• Design, calculate, and balance mathematical models for slot and crash game mechanics, including RTP, volatility, hit frequency, and payout distribution.
• Develop and tune bonus systems such as free spins, multipliers, buy-bonus features, and progression mechanics.
• Build simulations and run large-scale testing to validate game balance and payout behavior.
• Analyze and optimize existing math models based on player behavior, retention metrics, and product goals.
• Collaborate closely with game designers, product managers, and developers to align mathematical models with gameplay vision.
• Ensure a strong balance between profitability, player engagement, and long-term retention.
• Support rapid prototyping and iterative experimentation in a fast-moving development environment.
• Contribute to both external client projects and internal game development initiatives.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong mathematical expertise with practical experience in casino or slot game development and a deep understanding of player experience.

• 3–5+ years of experience in slot game mathematics, casino game balancing, or iGaming product development.
• Strong understanding of RTP, volatility modeling, hit rates, payout curves, and max win design.
• Hands-on experience designing or tuning mathematical models for production slot games.
• Experience working with game studios, slot providers, or iGaming platforms.
• Knowledge of modern slot mechanics such as free spins, bonus buys, multipliers, and progression systems.
• Experience with crash or instant-win game math is a strong advantage.
• Ability to build simulations and analyze large-scale payout distributions.
• Strong understanding of player psychology and game feel beyond pure statistical modeling.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, startup-like environments with frequent iteration cycles.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across technical and creative teams.
