Software Engineer Back End SR

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving backend systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, and engineering quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust digital solutions by:

• Developing new features and enhancing existing systems while ensuring quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Designing and evolving software architectures, proposing structural improvements and technical solutions.
• Building integrations between internal and external services, including APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Writing clean, efficient, and testable code while following engineering best practices and established technical standards.
• Creating and maintaining automated and unit tests to ensure delivery quality and system reliability.
• Collaborating with product, QA, frontend, and data teams to deliver complete solutions from development to production.
• Participating actively in code reviews, sharing knowledge, and helping maintain strong engineering practices.
• Monitoring application performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimization strategies.
• Documenting architectures, workflows, and technical decisions to strengthen knowledge sharing.
• Contributing to agile ceremonies including planning, refinement sessions, and retrospectives.
• Mentoring junior and mid-level developers by providing technical guidance and support.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has strong backend development experience, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to contribute to complex technical environments. You should demonstrate:

• Solid experience in backend software development using Node.js and Java.
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Experience handling large volumes of data and complex, high-performance queries.
• Strong understanding of modular service architectures and RESTful APIs.
• Experience implementing automated testing, version control practices with Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Previous experience working within digital product teams and agile methodologies.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex technical challenges while communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience working in healthtech or technically complex organizations.
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, SQS, and Elastic Beanstalk.
• Previous experience developing solutions using AI-powered tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Codex.
• Knowledge of observability practices, monitoring solutions, and SRE principles.
• Experience working with high-scale platforms and large data environments.
