Sr. Finance Systems Analyst

In this role, you will act as a key financial partner supporting clinical operations through advanced portfolio-level analysis and financial systems expertise. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and strategic value of financial data across clinical solutions portfolios. Working at the intersection of finance, operations, and data, you will transform complex financial and operational inputs into actionable insights that guide executive decision-making. This position plays a critical role in monitoring project performance, identifying risks, and ensuring budget integrity across the full lifecycle of clinical studies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project finance, clinical operations, and senior leadership. Accountabilities:

• Lead portfolio-level financial analysis for clinical solutions, including budget performance, forecasting accuracy, and risk identification
• Oversee financial management across project lifecycles, ensuring compliance with internal controls and financial best practices
• Perform variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. forecast) to identify drivers of change, risks, and scope deviations
• Support and enhance forecasting and planning processes with reliable financial assumptions and models
• Monitor budget consumption, earned value indicators, and change order impacts across clinical portfolios
• Develop and maintain KPIs linking operational performance to financial outcomes (e.g., enrollment vs. burn rate, milestones vs. revenue)
• Create dashboards and financial reports using Excel and Power BI to support governance and executive reporting
• Translate complex financial and operational data into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders and senior leaders
• Act as a strategic finance partner to clinical and operational leadership teams
• Support continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting standards, and analytical frameworks

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
• 5–8 years of experience in project finance, FP&A, or operational finance, preferably in CRO or clinical research environments
• Strong experience analyzing complex project or portfolio financials, ideally within clinical trials
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, scenario analysis, large datasets)
• Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
• Strong understanding of clinical trial financial drivers, project lifecycles, and budgeting processes
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to connect operational activity to financial outcomes
• High attention to detail with a strategic, portfolio-level perspective
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, matrixed, and cross-functional environment
