This role is responsible for leading and optimizing local clinical study operations, ensuring trials are executed efficiently and in alignment with global strategies. You will oversee a team of Local Study Operations Managers (LSOMs), driving the successful delivery of the study portfolio while fostering professional growth and operational excellence. The position requires a balance of strategic oversight, risk management, and hands-on leadership to maintain high-quality trial execution. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, implement best practices, and champion continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will directly impact the success of clinical programs and ultimately contribute to advancing patient care. Accountabilities:
As a Senior Manager in Local Study Operations, you will:
- Lead and mentor LSOMs, ensuring skill development and readiness to manage complex clinical trials.
- Oversee the delivery of the country’s study portfolio, managing scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Monitor study progress, assess risks, and support issue resolution and escalation for LSOMs.
- Manage LSOM and vendor performance, driving solutions to local operational challenges and ensuring portfolio targets are met.
- Foster collaboration across local and global study teams to enhance efficiency, implement best practices, and support knowledge sharing.
- Optimize resource allocation across teams, including FSP and FTE personnel, to align with global priorities.
- Promote continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
- Doctorate & 2 years, Master’s & 6 years, Bachelor’s & 8 years, Associate’s & 10 years, or High School diploma & 12 years of clinical execution experience.
- Minimum 2 years of direct people management or leadership experience in projects, teams, programs, or resource allocation.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Preferred: 7+ years in life sciences or medically related field, including 4+ years in biopharmaceutical clinical research.
- Experience managing multiple teams across clinical functions and trials.
- Experience overseeing clinical research vendors (CROs, central labs, imaging vendors).
- Knowledge of local regulatory requirements for global clinical trials.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills to drive team performance and cross-functional alignment.
