This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Python Engineer in Latin America.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, fully remote team focused on delivering scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems that serve millions of users across multiple cloud platforms. Working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, you will contribute to improving system performance, implementing new features, and ensuring code quality and maintainability. You will also engage in process improvements, code reviews, and the development of test automation to ensure robust software delivery.

Accountabilities:

· Improve backend features, scalability, and reliability of client platforms through technical and process improvements.

· Participate in scoping, designing, and implementing new API features and subsystems.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build systems capable of scaling to millions of users globally.

· Conduct code reviews and write or review software design documents to maintain architecture quality.

· Implement and maintain test automation and engineering best practices.

· Support effective collaboration between backend, frontend, and operations teams to deliver seamless software solutions.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

· 3+ years of professional experience with Python and Django web development.

· 3+ years of experience with SQL databases (Postgres preferred).

· Hands-on experience with Celery or other background task runners.

· Exposure to consumer-facing applications and web/mobile frontend integration.

· Strong English communication skills (advanced level) to collaborate with US clients.

· Proven ability to work in a remote, autonomous environment while contributing effectively to team outcomes.
