This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Director - Data Engineering in Latin America.

In this role, you will serve as the executive-level technical leader for high-profile, strategic clients, acting as a trusted advisor and technical authority. You will oversee complex data and AI initiatives, ensuring projects move from concept to production with measurable business impact. The position requires hands-on expertise in architecture, cloud platforms, and emerging technologies, alongside exceptional client-facing communication and leadership skills. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, guide technical strategy, and maintain accountability for delivery quality and client satisfaction. Accountabilities

Act as the executive technical leader for strategic client accounts, functioning like the client’s CTO for technology direction and alignment.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with technical and business stakeholders through 1:1s, workshops, and strategic events.
Lead client-facing sessions, including QBRs, Innovation Days, and technical workshops, translating business goals into actionable data and AI strategies.
Develop and oversee client-specific technology roadmaps and architecture, providing hands-on guidance when needed.
Collaborate with account teams to identify growth opportunities and drive strategic initiatives, including proposals, scopes, and pricing.
Ensure operational excellence by guiding teams in delivering high-quality, production-ready data and AI solutions.
Track and report KPIs to measure client success and business value, continuously improving delivery practices.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.
Proven experience leading highly technical engineering teams or serving as a chief architect in complex environments.
Deep expertise in data engineering, AI/ML systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and enterprise data solutions.
Strong hands-on skills with architecture design, distributed systems, data pipelines, and workflow orchestration.
Excellent client-facing communication skills, including the ability to influence executive stakeholders and present complex technical concepts clearly.
Experience operationalizing prototypes into production-ready solutions while ensuring scalability, reliability, and measurable impact.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, provide feedback, and lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel up to 35% depending on client needs.
