Remote position - From Argentina or Uruguay
Ryz Labs is looking for a Technical Lead to join our client's small, fast-moving team. You will work as a hands-on engineering leader responsible for driving technical execution in an AI-forward startup environment. This role blends deep individual contribution with leadership, ownership, and decision-making. With a small engineering team, the Technical Lead plays a critical role in shaping the product, defining technical direction, and building scalable systems from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical owner for core product architecture and implementation- Write production-ready code and remain deeply involved in day-to-day development- Lead technical decision-making with a focus on speed, scalability, and long-term maintainability- Collaborate closely with founders, product, and design to turn ideas into shipped features- Mentor and support a small engineering team through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance- Establish lightweight but effective engineering processes suited for a startup environment- Integrate and scale AI/ML capabilities within the product where they provide clear value- Identify technical risks, manage trade-offs, and make pragmatic decisions under uncertainty- Own technical quality across the stack, including testing, performance, and reliability- Qualifications:
- Strong experience as a senior full stack software engineer in a startup or fast-paced environment- Proven ability to lead technical projects while remaining hands-on- Experience designing and building systems from early-stage to production- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, tools, or AI-powered products- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate with minimal structure- Experience mentoring engineers and leading by example- Strong problem-solving skills and a bias toward execution- Clear communication skills and comfort working directly with non-technical stakeholders
