At Coperniq, we’re building software for contractors who install and maintain critical building systems.

This is not a point solution. We’re building a broad platform across sales, operations, service, finance, office teams, and field teams. The product surface area is large, the workflows are messy, and the design problems are real.

We believe design matters because most software in this industry is fragmented and hard to use. This role is about turning operational complexity into simple software, not just making screens look good.

We’re backed by Y Combinator and Initialized, still early, and moving fast. This is a chance to help shape both the product and the design system across web, mobile, and AI-native workflows.

What you’ll do

• Design across a broad multi-product platform, not a single feature area
• Collaborate with founders, Maria, and engineering throughout a project, not in a waterfall handoff model
• Think through flows, systems, edge cases, permissions, and information architecture
• Design for both web and mobile, including helping rethink major parts of our mobile app
• Contribute to the design system as the product grows
• Turn customer problems into clear, fast, usable product experiences
• Help design AI-native workflows where AI actually improves the product
• Make strong tradeoffs and know when to ship something that is good enough

Requirements

• Experience designing complex, integrated B2B products with multiple workflows or product families
• Strong systems thinker with an engineering-minded approach to design
• Strong across both web and mobile product design
• Comfortable working closely with engineers and moving quickly
• High judgment, high output, and pragmatic about prioritization
• Excited to work as a peer with our existing designer, not in a mentorship role

Strong signals

• You were a founding designer or an early design hire and stayed long enough to see the consequences of early decisions
• You have experience with systems-heavy products, not just point solutions
• You have a background in architecture, industrial design, civil engineering, front-end development, or something similarly structured
• You have experience designing AI-powered or AI-native product experiences
