Overview
Software Mind is seeking qualified candidates located in Latam to fill the role of QA Engineer (Independent Vendor Oversight). In addition to a competitive salary rate and a positive work environment committed to delivering high-quality technology solutions, we also offer:
- Flexible schedules
- An authentic work-life balance
- Payment in US Dollars
About the role: We are looking for a QA Engineer to act as the independent quality authority across all externally developed applications and systems. This role is responsible for ensuring that third-party vendors deliver reliable, scalable, and production-ready solutions. You will define testing standards, validate vendor deliverables, and ensure quality is objectively measured and enforced.
Key Responsibilities
Independent Quality Validation
- Validate all vendor-delivered features before release: functional, regression, and integration testing
- Ensure solutions meet business requirements — not just technical specs
- Identify gaps vendors may overlook or under-test
Test Strategy & Framework Ownership
- Define and implement a QA strategy across all systems
- Establish test plans, acceptance criteria frameworks, and release readiness checklists
- Introduce automation where appropriate (without overengineering)
Vendor Accountability
- Review and challenge vendor-provided test cases, QA processes, and defect resolution approaches
- Ensure vendors are not testing their own homework
- Escalate quality risks early and clearly
Integration & End-to-End Testing
- Own testing across system boundaries: ERP, eCommerce, CRM, and data platforms
- Validate real-world workflows: order-to-cash, customer journeys, data flows
- Identify failures that only show up in end-to-end scenarios
Data & Reporting Validation
- Ensure data accuracy, proper transformations and mappings across systems
- Validate reporting outputs and dashboards against source systems
Release Governance
- Act as a gatekeeper for production releases with defined go/no-go criteria
- Participate in sprint reviews and release planning
