About the job

The goal of a Senior QA Engineer is to ensure product quality, reliability, and an exceptional user experience through a balanced combination of manual and automated testing. This involves designing and executing comprehensive test cases, performing exploratory and regression testing, identifying and documenting defects, and ensuring issues are properly tracked and resolved.

Senior QA Engineers also develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks, integrating them into continuous integration and delivery pipelines to achieve broad coverage across functional, regression, and performance scenarios. By continuously improving testing efficiency and reducing manual effort, they help accelerate release cycles without compromising quality.

Focused on preventing defects from reaching end users, Senior QA Engineers collaborate closely with development teams to uphold high standards of usability, performance, and reliability, blending the depth of manual validation with the speed and consistency of automation to deliver a seamless and dependable product experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Execute Test Cases: Create detailed, well-structured test plans and cases based on product requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Conduct Exploratory Testing: Investigate the application beyond scripted cases to identify edge cases, usability issues, and unexpected behavior.

  • Identify and Document Defects: Accurately record issues with clear steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and relevant evidence (screenshots, logs).

  • Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to clarify requirements and discuss quality concerns.

  • Validate Bug Fixes: Re-test resolved defects to confirm they are fully fixed and do not introduce new issues.

  • Design and Develop Automated Test Cases: Build, maintain, and optimize automated test scripts based on product requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Create and Maintain Test Automation Frameworks: Develop scalable, reusable, and maintainable test automation frameworks that support functional, regression, and performance testing.

  • Integrate Automation into CI/CD Pipelines: Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to embed automated tests into continuous integration and delivery workflows.

  • Execute Automated Functional Testing: Run automated test suites to validate that each feature works as expected and meets quality standards.

  • Monitor and Analyze Test Results: Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and work with development teams to resolve defects.
