Junior Data Engineer (4-month project)

Zipdev's is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to facilitate the expansion of our business operations. This position is a full-time role for a 4-month project with the likelihood of extension. Below is a description of your role and responsibilities, including the things you will be held accountable for and the virtues, behaviors and competencies that are expected for this role.

Responsibilities will include:

• Executing ETL/ELT tasks and processes as directed by senior engineers to connect product, operations, and third-party data sources into Snowflake.
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of clean, well-modeled data layers (data marts) to support self-service analytics and reporting.
• Supporting the existing data infrastructure stack, including Snowflake, AWS DBs, dbt, Airflow (or equivalent orchestrator), and Python-based transformation frameworks, under the guidance of the engineering team.
• Collaborating with senior engineers and stakeholders (Product, RevOps, and CS) to deliver reliable datasets for reporting and decision-making.
• Aiding in the identification and resolution of data-related performance bottlenecks in applications.
• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of data quality monitoring, observability, and documentation standards to ensure accuracy and trust across stakeholders.

Requirements

• 
  You have foundational knowledge of building and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines and data modeling concepts.
• You are eager to learn and ready to contribute to both analytics and platform-level data engineering tasks as part of a team.
• You are knowledgeable about data modeling and orchestration best practices (dbt, Airflow, modular ELT patterns, etc.) and ready to apply them.
• You have high levels of empathy and can connect deeply with our client's mission.
• You are comfortable working in ambiguous environments and know that we need your help to figure things out.
• You are comfortable using a lot of systems at once and have the ability to learn software quickly.
• You are fearlessly flexible and curious; aka you thrive in an environment where we don't have all the answers but are willing to help us figure them out.
• You have experience working with a startup and/or with a B2B SaaS business.
